Samaritan Recovery Community is a caring, long-standing nonprofit substance abuse treatment provider serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Located in the historic East Nashville area with spectacular views of the downtown skyline and Tennessee Titans Football stadium, Samaritan Recovery Community provides intensive residential treatment, transitional living, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. We provide treatment services to men and women regardless of their ability to pay.

We currently have a full-time position available, 3:30pm - 12am and part-time weekend hours. Must have High School Diploma or GED!
What will you do as a Recovery Technician?
You will -
- Act as helpful listener to clients in absence of other clinical staff and notify on-call supervisor when significant or immediate clinical intervention is needed.
- Intervene and use de-escalation techniques (non-physical intervention) as outlined by agency policy and procedures for emergency situations when needed.
- Communicate effectively with On-Call staff to report information after business hours as needed.
- Document observed and reported client behaviors and interactions.
- Follows crisis response plan in event of a medical, or psychiatric emergency (i.e. suicidal/homicidal ideation or threats) with the direction of supervisor and/or On-Call staff.
- Conduct urine screens as directed.
- Engage clients in recovery activities.
- Screen and monitor all visitors to the agency.
- Report facility maintenance concerns.
- Check client rooms and details.
- Make status rounds every hour and document.
- Assist with or conduct emergency drills and document accordingly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or some college preferred
- Knowledge of 12-Step recovery philosophy is a plus
- Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction issues or related work experience preferred
- Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic boundaries.
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certification, provided by Samaritan.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours.
- Walking, bending, light lifting up to 50 lbs
