Samaritan Recovery Community is a caring, long-standing nonprofit substance abuse treatment provider serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Located in the historic East Nashville area with spectacular views of the downtown skyline, Samaritan Recovery Community provides intensive residential treatment, transitional living, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. We provide treatment services to men and women regardless of their ability to pay.
We are looking for a Recovery Navigator to join our team, who is passionate about helping people as they learn how to establish a lifestyle of recovery free from substance use. If you want to make a difference in someone else's life, we want you to apply!
Minimum of 1-3 years experience working with the underserved population; some knowledge of addiction and experience with this population; high school degree required; college degree is preferred. Valid Driver's License is required.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Recovery Navigator position is designed to serve the clients at Samaritan Respite Community throughout their time on campus, beginning with admissions and following through as needed in a variety of ways, while building strong relationships with each department at Samaritan to achieve the best care for our clients.
Duties: Function as a greeter at Samaritan and assist the Admissions team by admitting new clients to the respite program; participate in screening clients, answering phones, and assisting new clients in completing admissions paperwork; transporting clients to Samaritan; build strong and constructive working relationships with referral sources such as hospitals, emergency rooms, EMT, police/sheriff, and community agencies; conducting orientation tour of facility grounds; assisting with clients moving into the unit.
Provide first point of contact to referral sources to Samaritan and provide follow-up communication as needed.
Provide support to the Recovery Tech (RT) team through supervising of clients during shifts, assisting new clients with orientation, and participation in groups, as needed.
Provide support to the Clinical Department by assisting the Respite Counselor in conducting groups, sessions, or assisting with locating discharge housing, healthcare appointments, and other tasks as assigned.
Provide support to the Medical team through transporting clients to Samaritan for the initial visit, off-site visits, medication runs, and moving clients throughout the facility. Provide discharge transportation as needed and as determined by the medical, clinical, or RT team.
Responsible for documenting all client encounters appropriately for billing.
Consult and coordinate with the program administrator regarding specific client needs.
Engage community to alert them to community needs of the facility, and to raise awareness of Samaritan, when appropriate and with consent of the program administrator.
Must be able to lift 10 lbs
Must be able to walk reasonable distances such as through a large parking lot
Perform other related duties as assigned.
