Oracle E-Business Suite Finance Functional Consultant
Contract Position - Vancouver, BC
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite Finance Functional Consultant to join our client's team in Vancouver on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will provide expertise in implementing, configuring, and supporting Oracle EBS Financial applications to support the organization's financial processes. Strong knowledge of Purchasing, Payables, General Ledger, and Receivables modules is expected. The candidate should have an accounting background and be able to walk through the process flows and accounting entries for each business event. They should also be comfortable writing queries in SQL and generating ad-hoc reports from underlying Oracle tables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the functional configuration and implementation of Oracle EBS Financial modules (Purchasing, General Ledger, Payables & Receivables). Knowledge of Fixed Assets is desirable.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective Oracle EBS Financial solutions.
- Design and document financial business processes, preparing functional specifications for customizations and interfaces.
- Provide functional expertise during testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including configuration guides and user manuals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues related to Oracle Financial applications.
- Train and support finance end-users on Oracle EBS functionality.
- Collaborate with technical team members on custom solutions and integrations.
- Manage change requests and enhancement projects.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience implementing Oracle EBS Financial applications with experience managing full life cycle Oracle implementations.
- Strong expertise in Oracle EBS R12.x financial modules.
- Deep understanding of financial business processes and accounting principles.
- Good knowledge of SQL and underlying Oracle tables.
