Key Responsibilities
- Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients, answer their questions and provide support.
- Apply ultrasound gel on the surface of patients' bodies over the internal area to be imaged.
- Program and adjust the scanner for the specific procedure, ensuring the transducer captures images from every angle or section as needed.
- Determine which still images or sonograms to capture and present to the Physician for diagnostic purposes.
- Evaluate images for quality and interpret them to assist Physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases.
- Present images and preliminary findings to the Physicians.
- Maintain patients' records and medical notes on the ultrasound procedure they have undergone.
- Clean and sterilize the ultrasound equipment and procedure rooms.
- Assist Radiologists with vascular ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
