Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Minnesota's premiere land development practices. Our team has legacy clients and a portfolio of exciting and diverse projects. The team is experienced and established, and needs a leader to help build upon decades of success to support future growth and opportunity.

The Practice Leader oversees the operations of the Minnesota Land Services team, working directly with staff and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This group’s project work is primarily focused in the greater Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, but we frequently deliver projects in surrounding areas and occasionally work nationally for select clients. In this role, you will oversee the project and design managers that deliver the work and collaborate with the client service managers to secure new project opportunities.

Work Location : Hybrid role based in Minnetonka, MN with 3-5 days per week in the office to lead and collaborate with the local production team
Expected Compensation Range : $135,000-195,000 annually (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)

Responsibilities

Provide leadership to the Minnesota Land Services department

Provide mentorship and career path planning for direct reports and emerging leaders

Contribute to business development efforts, including attendance at client meetings and industry events, and preparation of project proposals

Lead design on a variety of select projects. This includes the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion. This role has a target billable rate of 50%.

Work with the Division Director and Client Service Managers to prepare one- and three-year business plans

Prepare annual department budget

Represent Sambatek at meetings with cities, clients, and external project team members

Collaborate with practice leaders across other departments to share resources and maximize efficiency across the business while ensuring client needs are met

Build and grow a production team leading hiring and recruiting in collaboration with the HR team

Provide day to day guidance to project team staff

Requirements :

Strong leadership qualities

A drive to exceed expectations and win over clients

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Professional Engineer license in Minnesota

10 years of consulting experience in land development

Effective written and verbal communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential

Good mentoring skills

Excellent time management skills

Possess the ability to change focus quickly during a typical day

Positive and solution-oriented approach to problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment

Ability to occasionally move equipment / objects weighing up to 10 pounds
