SUMMARY
Responsible for field work as assigned to include construction staking, topo, boundary, and other types of work as assigned. Provide guidance and training to survey field technicians, responsible for the application of appropriate field procedures; maintains client relations; acquires new clients and projects; records all field data and information and ensures it is transmitted to the office in the appropriate format; provides guidance and direction to the Instrument Men and Rodmen; performs survey tasks as per the direction of the Survey Coordinator/Survey Manager. Ensures the crew over which he is in charge utilizes the appropriate equipment, personnel, and procedures to maximize efficiency in the execution of surveys. Professional conduct is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Know the principles and methods used in performing a variety of surveys such as: photo control surveys, state plane coordinate surveys, public land surveys, metes and bounds survey, GPS surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
- Knowledge of the use of survey equipment: GPS equipment, data collectors, total station, robotic total station, levels;
- Knowledge of the care, cleaning and use of surveying tools, equipment and accessories, including tablets. Understand the names, purpose and parts, setup, transport and the need for calibration of various surveying field instruments.
- Knowledge of mathematics and measurements relating to surveying including linear, angular, elevations, unit system conversions and allowable accuracy tolerances.
- Ability to problem solve on site;
- Ability to calculate a stake out point in the field;
- Understands and confirms that Field Survey (SOP) is being following by crew;
- Leads crew safety operations;
- Understands and confirms surveying field book notes requirements are met;
- Ability to read engineering and surveying plans to obtain information required to complete survey tasks and confirm accuracy in the field.
- Knowledge of traffic control needs and safety procedures for surveying during construction;
- Knowledge of surveying ethics, technical standards and profession responsibility.
- Comply with and enforce all governmental laws, policies and regulations.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to by you.
- Provide training to other employees if necessary
- Required to travel

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required to demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency.
- 3 years of survey experience as an Instrument Man II
- Have obtained CST III certification.
- Fast learner
- Team Player, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Efficiently schedule manage his/her time.
- Excellent communication skills
