SUMMARY
Supports and leads preparation of proposals, presentations, marketing materials, technical writing and other business development and corporate materials. Will work on company/client sensitive information and must maintain confidentiality of information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Lead the proposal process and plan, develop, organize, write, and edit Technical Documents in a clear and concise manner.
- Coordinate with other departments, firms, or team members to develop task or contract specific technical proposals.
- Prepare, review, and edit text, detailed graphics, and page layout design for documents such as proposals, qualifications, and presentation slides as assigned by BD Management.
- Confer with Proposal Managers to establish formats, font sizes, templates, etc. in accordance with proposal instructions.
- Maintain configuration control for proposals, marketing materials, and other corporate documents, including logos.
- Capture and maintains data including entries into corporate database systems; exhibit strong computer skills.
- Ensure that all proposal and related documents comply with company identity program style and format (logo, color, etc.).
- Research, develop and document technical information in line with company capabilities and goals.
- Provide word processing support to authors and compiles final documents.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
- Research grant opportunities, prepare all required documents including any grant writing, submit and follow up through resolution.
- Research and prepare or update project write-ups, key personnel resumes and other technical support items as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Education/Experience
Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience. A person without a bachelor’s degree can substitute 4 years of previous work experience in business, marketing, or a technical field for educational requirements.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as requests for qualifications/proposal, operation, instructional, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematics Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and to apply mathematical principles.
Reasoning Ability
Must be a critical thinker with ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills/Abilities
Must have exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking, have excellent research skills, and possess knowledge of graphics design and desktop publishing software, preferably Adobe in Design Suite. Must have experience in developing sophisticated documents in Microsoft Word. Ability to get along with coworkers, customers, and visitors. Ability to operate calculator, office copier, fax and computer are required, along with a familiarity with databases.
During proposal activities, additional hours may be required, e.g., nights and weekends.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
