About the Job:
GENERAL:
The Quality Control/Quality Assurance representative is responsible for the implementation and management of the project quality control program and the performance of daily QCM responsibilities to ensure proper coordination and construction that meet project standards and requirements. The QCM will be responsible for direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and will work with other in-house personnel (e.g.: Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Quality Control/Quality Assurance representative is responsible for the implementation and management of the project quality control program and the performance of daily QCM responsibilities to ensure proper coordination and construction that meet project standards and requirements. The QCM will be responsible for direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and will work with other in-house personnel (e.g.: Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use in the project.
- Chair and document periodic Quality Control meetings with the Superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project-specific contract documents.
- Provide written daily Quality Control reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard.
- As specified in the Contract, participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade understands the project’s Quality Control requirements before beginning work on site.
- Conduct regularly scheduled QC meetings (with both subcontractors and/or SAMES, Inc. personnel), review logs of Deficiencies, Punch List, etc., and provide documentation and meeting minutes as needed.
- Create, document, and distribute all QC checklists, inspections, completion lists, punch lists, and reports.
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and the approved submittals.
- Document final inspections, certificates of occupancy, and acceptance of various phases of the work.
- Coordinate and participate in field inspections to verify that work is proceeding with contract documents and approved submittals.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Superintendent to ensure the project is completed on schedule.
- Comply with and enforce all governmental laws, policies, and regulations.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to by you.
- All other duties are assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- BS Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Related Field highly preferred.
- Five (5) year experience in construction management.
- USACE CQM-C certification and OSHA 30 required.
- Government Contracting experience preferred.
- A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and of safety precautions necessary in construction, demolition, etc.
- Knowledge of the laws and local ordinances regulating the operation of vehicles.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments and to service automotive equipment.
- Sufficient physical strength to perform heavy labor work. Knowledge of the effective operation of medium equipment.
- Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations and of effective precautionary measures necessary to avoid accidents.
- Knowledge of the hazards involved in the use of medium equipment and of the safety precautions to be taken.
- Ability to understand and carry out general instructions relating to construction and maintenance operations.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office-related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
- Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, crawling, handling, sitting, pushing, and pulling.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a valid, appropriate Texas driver’s license is preferable as an acceptable driving record.
