GENERAL
The Survey Project Manager is the candidate that will have extensive experience in land surveying, project management, and compliance with TxDOT standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands and ensures team compliance of company and industry safety expectations.
- Knowledge and capable of performing all company surveying services as needed with GPS equipment, level loop or robotic total station.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions in the field for boundary determination and completion of survey report.
- Knowledgeable to utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Maintains department use and training of Trimble Business Software.
- Ability to develop boundary surveys (land title and ALTA/NSPS), topographic, right of way, parcels, acreage surveys with metes & bounds and easement drawings from deeds, plats and survey field data.
- Knowledgeable with different survey tolerance requirements.
- Ability to research within various sources to obtain copies of documents such as deeds, plats, easements, utility maps and right-of-way maps for properties in various counties.
- Understand and use established company standards for survey plat production.
- Performs quality assurance reviews of all survey field data to deliverables and interfaces with other survey team members to ensure accurate information is presented on survey plats.
- Ensure projects are completed as per project schedule and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Provide positive direction and motivation to field and office technicians to ensure overall company morale and progression of project production.
- Maintain membership and an active role with Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry changes for surveying procedures and legal requirements related to surveying.
- Leads communication client/project stakeholders on all project matters as required.
- Responsible for proposal development, scope and level of effort and follow-up.
- Responsible for monthly invoicing projections.
- Responsible for project completion on schedule as per client expectations.
- Actively participates and leads project kick-off and progress meetings.
- Resolves field and or office survey discrepancies in a professional and prompt manner.
- Understands accurate project records (field book, sketch, plat, reports etc.) and expects same from team members.
- Review and approval proposals, scope of work, and level of efforts for all surveying services.
- Provide required project and proposal tracker updates for reporting to Director.
- Review team timesheets for accuracy of billable and non-billable time in accordance to company coding standards.
- Manage and approve team PTO and overtime, prior to Director final approval.
- Prepares and/or reviews survey report in addition to the survey deliverable as a company standard.
- Ensure that all company policies and standard operating procedures are adhered to by you and leads with team accountability.
- All other duties assigned by management.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of state and local surveying regulations
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid, appropriate Texas driver’s license preferable and an acceptable driving record.
