Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. What You'll Do In This Role
- Lead the Investment Accounting function; oversee and direct GAAP and statutory accounting and reporting for all asset classes in the Company’s consolidated investment portfolio.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of balances relating to investment assets, liabilities, income and expenses on a GAAP and statutory basis of accounting.
- Foster collaboration across the organization by working closing with investment operations, financial reporting, tax, treasury, and business unit leaders to support their specific needs.
- Cultivate and maintain strong external relationships with auditors, investment managers, service providers, and other business partners to ensure seamless delivery of services. Serve as the primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, adopting new technologies and processes, and enhancing controls over investment accounting.
- Monitor emerging financial reporting and regulatory developments related to investment accounting, ensuring timely compliance and alignment with new requirements.
- Develop summary reports/presentations and address current investment accounting topics for internal audiences including, but not limited to: Investment, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Executive Committees.
- Oversee all aspects of Investment Accounting team management, including recruitment, development, performance evaluations, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative work environment.

- Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting or related field Required
- Minimum 10 years' financial markets experience Required
- Minimum 10 years' insurance industry experience Preferred
- Minimum 5 years' leadership experience Preferred
- Experience and expertise with investment accounting systems Preferred
- In-depth knowledge of various investment types, including derivatives, fixed income, equities, and alternative investments
- Demonstrated leadership through developing, coaching and mentoring of others within and beyond team
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to take data from several sources and organize, validate and analyze the data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required in order to prepare and present reports to senior management
- Collaborative team skills within and outside of Corporate Accounting with the ability to work in a positive fashion toward common organizational goals
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects, delegate and allocate time and resources effectively; ability to meet strict deadlines
- Advanced knowledge in the use of financial databases and spreadsheets
- Some travel may be required.
