USD $74,301.00 - USD $154,793.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. What You'll Do In This Role
- Lead efforts to gather competitive intelligence on product trends, and new entrants in the insurance market; and compensation structures if working in the Life business unit. Conduct regular benchmarking of competitors’ product portfolios and market positioning to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with the product development and business development teams by providing insights into new products, riders, features and emerging markets. Deliver detailed analysis on industry sales, market share, competitors’ product launches and product changes to inform sales, product design and pricing decisions.
- Work with SMEs to ensure that research is stored in a centralized, accessible system. Develop regular reports and dashboards that present findings to senior leadership and product teams in a clear and actionable format.
- Manage, coach, mentor and motivate the activities of the assigned staff; participate in all aspects of employee management including hiring/termination decisions, coaching for performance improvements and performing the applicable performance management reviews.
- Utilize broad understanding of industry, distribution practices, and product knowledge while staying informed of new product features and innovations.
- Analyze feedback from sales team members and/or distribution partners, to understand market needs and if working in the Life business unit, to understand product performance and training requirements. Provide insights to improve sales materials, marketing collateral and product positioning.
- Conduct research on customer demographics, preferences and unmet needs if working within the Life business unit. Provide data-driven insights to support marketing campaigns and sales targeting initiatives; provide data-driven insights to support customer journey mapping if working within the Life business unit.
- Stay updated on advancements in digital tools and applicable platforms used in sales process or aggregation platforms.
- Provide recommendations on technology investments to enhance ease of doing business and improve customer experience; if working within the Life business unit.
- Track and analyze how competitors structure compensation and incentive programs for agents and distribution partners. Provide insights to leadership and/or pricing and sales teams to remain competitive in attracting and retaining top agents; if working within the Life business unit. .
- Stay ahead of market trends in the applicable life or annuity insurance industry, including new product categories and/or underwriting advancements. Provide strategic recommendations to inform future investments and market entry decisions.

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Marketing, Business, Actuarial Science or related field Preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the insurance industry Preferred
- Minimum 2 years' of people leader experience Preferred
- Focus on product/sales/distribution, competitive intelligence or related field Preferred
- Ability to lead projects and teams and deliver results across concurrent projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build effective relationships and foster a supportive learning environment
- Demonstrated a high level of analytical ability and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to research and synthesize data into insights and recommendations
- Demonstrated strong skills and experience in leading research initiatives with clear objectives and outcomes
- Demonstrated strong verbal and communication skills
- Demonstrated natural sense of curiosity, strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities, and a demonstrated ability to lead this approach with others
