USD $60,119.00 - USD $125,247.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. What You'll Do In This Role
- Prepare/review annual and quarterly analytical reports on all investments including, but not limited to: long-term bonds, derivatives, equity, limited partnerships, mortgage loans and short-term investments for state insurance compliance and external audit including work papers and answering questions.
- Prepare/review compliance/regulatory and distribute external reports. Examples: Rating agencies (Standard & Poor’s and AM Best), NAIC, Individual states for quarterly and annually reporting along with state audit examinations, Independent Auditors – ensure all audit checks and balances are in place along with compliance of regulatory requirements for the insurance industry, and liquidity analysis
- Prepare/review internal reports for management, actuary, finance and investment advisors as needed.
- Maintain a document database that houses all investment documents on a security level basis.
- Participate in the investment portfolio valuation audit with the external audit team.
- Work with Accounting, Tax, Legal and Compliance to ensure understanding of the appropriate treatment of portfolio holdings and security valuations.
- Interact with asset manager and internal Investment Accounting team to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Provide coaching and motivation of Investment Accountants and Investment Accounting team members.
- Assist in transferring files in and out of the investment system for a variety of processes including, but not limited to: pricing, PSA speeds for mortgage backed securities, NAIC uploads, feeds to Bondedge and Bloomberg, etc.
- Assist in developing and maintaining investment accounting policies and procedures documentation (MAR documentation).

- Participate in other initiatives and/or projects as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Business Management with a strong accounting background Preferred
- Minimum 5 years' accounting or related experience with over 36 months of investment accounting experience Preferred
- Strong familiarity with the investment guidelines as it relates to the various annual and quarterly statements also with the unique aspects of GAAP and statutory insurance accounting as it relates to investment accounting
- Strong knowledge of the investment system data elements, processes, report schedules, and report writers
- Extensive knowledge of complex investment instruments Ability to build and maintain a strong working relationship with staff and managers within Corporate Accounting and GPIM
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines is required
- Possess proven excellence in organizational skills
- LOMA 1,2,7, and 8 Preferred
