Optical Consultant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support in an optical setting. You will assist with various tasks related to patient interactions, optical sales, and maintaining medical records, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

Duties

• Greet patients and assist them with their needs upon arrival.
• Gather and record patient information, including medical history and vital signs.
• Assist with the selection of eyewear and provide recommendations based on individual needs.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Support the optometrist during examinations by preparing necessary equipment and instruments.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
• Handle sales transactions and manage inventory of optical products.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
• Familiarity with medical records management is essential for maintaining accurate documentation.
• Understanding of physiology can enhance patient interactions and care.
• Experience in senior care or pediatrics is a plus, as it helps cater to diverse patient needs.
• Sales experience in retail settings is beneficial for assisting customers effectively.
• Proficiency in retail math to manage transactions accurately.
• Previous laboratory or optical experience is advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 15 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
