Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Tech II to join the Laboratory Department!
Description
The selected applicant will perform various waived, moderately and highly complex hematologic, chemical, immunohematology, immunologic/serologic, microscopic, and microbiological tests on specimens to obtain data for use in diagnosis or treatment of diseases. Will be responsible for obtaining specimens by capillary, arterial, and venous punctures. Will perform troubleshooting and calibrations. Participates in the quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives. May also orientate and train new employees and/or students.
Requirements
This is a full-time, night shift position. Night shift hours are 6:00pm - 6:00am. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. May be required to work other hours for effective operation of the department.

Requirements
- National certification as an MT/MLS/MLT by an approved agency (ASCP or AMT) preferred
- Two years Lab Tech I or II experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in MLS and 1 year of experience or an Associate's degree in MLT and 2 years of experience required.
- Knowledge of lab equipment, quality control methods, and report management required
