Position Summary: As the Accounting Assistant you be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable/receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining customer and vendor relationships, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, matching them with appropriate purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and process electronic payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers, while ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
- Creates invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers.
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amount.
- Assist in month-end customer statements and closing activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable.
- Proficient to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations related to accounts payable/accounts receivable.
- Strong Consumer collections experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
· Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
