Description:
- Operate computer numerical control machines to fabricate wood parts.
Load plywood on machine. - Responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines.
- Responsible for loading parts, proving out CNC programs, operation controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
- Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent matching.
- Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine within capabilities controls or control media as required insuring quality of production. Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor for maintenance.
- Operates a forklift or lifting devices for movement of parts, when certified to do so.
- Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, maintenance, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Uses LOTO (lock out/Tag out) to de-energize equipment prior to performing any maintenance or repair service.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculation and use basic handheld measuring tools.
- CNC operator technical training program completion or equivalent experience.
