Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team. The Safety and Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols, implementing procedures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Manage the company's drug and alcohol program
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Maintain records of safety training and certifications
- Ensure compliance, and communicate with: OSHA, EPA, USCG, State and Federal Departments of Ecology, City of Seattle, Seattle Fire Department and other regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns
- Provide safety training to employees
- Assist in managing workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Oversee stormwater compliance and spill mitigation throughout the company
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of CFR, OSHA and USCG regulations
- Strong understanding of Environmental Health and Safety principles
- Ability to conduct report writing and analysis
- First aid certification is a plus
- Familiarity with the maritime industry
