The Camp Extended Care Coordinator supervises or extended care program while creating a positive and safe environment for all campers and staff. Position pays $21.50 - $22.75 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibilities for children under their care to ensure a positive and safe experience
- Actively supervise Extended Care Counselors during Extended Care and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Ensure the safety, health and welfare of campers and staff by providing a safe camp environment and immediately and appropriately responding to any incidents, illnesses or situations that arise.
- Review health forms and share pertinent information about campers with the appropriate staff, while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
- Responsible for parent phone calls, in person conversations with parents and parent emails at the discretion of the camp director.
- Support the emotional and social wellbeing of campers through positive behavior management, supportive interactions and conflict resolution.
- Communicate regularly and appropriately with the rest of the J Camp staff team, both verbally and in writing.
- Immediately inform the Camp Director of any concerns that arise with campers, staff, parents/guardians or community members.
- Contact parents picking up their campers late and stay with campers until the parents arrive.
- Communicate regularly with Camp Director and other members of the camp leadership team; share recommendations and/or concerns with the Camp Director.
- Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both inside and outside of the SJCC.
- Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
- Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises Extended Care Counselors.
Requirements:To be successful as a Camp Extended Care Coordinator you should have:
- A current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification for adults/infants/children through an approved certifying body. (or willing to become certified)
- Experience and/or training working with children preferred.

Salary : $22 - $23
