Description
The Senior Camp Coordinator supervises Camp Counselors, Specialists, Junior Camp Coordinators, while coordinating the daily activities and operations of designated summer camp program(s). The Senior Camp Coordinator creates a positive and safe environment for all campers and staff. Position pays $21.50 - $22.75 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assume responsibilities for children under their care to ensure a positive and safe experience.
- Create, Implement and uphold camp schedules.
- Actively supervise Camp Counselors, Specialists and Junior Camp Coordinators in designated program(s). Provide constructive feedback to staff
- Ensure the safety, health and welfare of campers and staff by providing a safe camp environment and immediately and appropriately responding to any incidents, illnesses or situations that arise.
- Review health forms and share pertinent information about campers with the appropriate staff, while ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
- Responsible for parent phone calls, in person conversations with parents and parent emails at the discretion of the camp director.
- Support the emotional and social wellbeing of the campers through positive behavior management, supportive interactions and conflict resolution.
- Communicate regularly and appropriately with the rest of the J Camp staff team, both verbally and in writing.
- Handle financials for their camp .
- Immediately inform the Camp Director of any concerns that arise with campers, staff, parents / guardians or community members.
- Communicate regularly with Camp Director and other members of the camp leadership team; share recommendations and / or concerns with the Camp Director
- Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both inside and outside of the SJCC
- Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
- Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This position supervises Camp Counselors, Specialists, and Junior Coordinators.
