Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
The Senior Camp Coordinator oversees the daily activities and operations of designated summer camp program(s), creating a positive and safe environment for all campers and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a positive and safe experience for children under their care.
- Create, implement, and uphold camp schedules.
- Supervise Camp Counselors, Specialists, and Junior Camp Coordinators in designated program(s) and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe camp environment, responding to incidents, illnesses, or situations as needed.
- Review health forms and share pertinent information about campers with appropriate staff while maintaining confidentiality.
- Handle parent communications and support the emotional and social wellbeing of campers through positive behavior management and conflict resolution.
- Communicate regularly with the J Camp staff team and handle financials for their camp.
- Inform the Camp Director of concerns that arise with campers, staff, parents/guardians, or community members.
- Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC and follow emergency procedures.
- Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises Camp Counselors, Specialists, and Junior Coordinators.Requirements:
- Hold current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification for adults/infants/children through an approved certifying body.
- Have experience working with children (preferred) and be open to learning.
