POSITION SUMMARY
As a BIM Manager at Samuel Engineering, you will lead the Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts for our engineering, design, and fabrication/construction projects. Our company specializes in the engineering, design, procurement, and construction of process plants for the oil & gas, chemical, utilities, and mineral processing/mining industries. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, ensure BIM standards compliance, and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in the pursuit of project excellence. BIM Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce company BIM standards, protocols, and workflows tailored to process plant design.
- Lead the transition to a BIM-centric environment, integrating tools like Revit, Plant 3D, Advance Steel, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
- Evaluate and recommend software solutions to enhance productivity, collaboration, and data exchange.
Project Support and Coordination:
- Serve as BIM administrator for the company on multiple projects
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact for BIM-related matters across multiple projects.
- Ensure accurate model coordination between disciplines (e.g., piping, structural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation).
- Oversee model quality control, clash detection, and resolution processes.
- Understanding of Python and other programming systems to automate processes
Collaboration and Training:
- Provide training and mentorship to design and engineering teams on BIM tools and best practices.
- Collaborate with external consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless data exchange and model interoperability.
Data Management and Delivery:
- Manage the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or other collaborative platforms.
- Ensure deliverables, including 3D models, drawings, and data exports, meet project requirements and client expectations.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Challenging the status quo and bringing forward new ideas to improve our BIM/VDC systems and processes.
- Stay abreast of emerging BIM trends and technologies relevant to process plant design.
- Identify opportunities for automation, enhanced visualization (e.g., VDC, VR/AR), and data-driven decision-making.
- Quickly adapting to obstacles and changes to maintain project workflow and efficiency.
- Evaluating and identifying areas for improvement and recommending innovative solutions.
- Providing project leadership and mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BIM Management experience
- Bachelor's degree or Equivalent combination of experience and training
- Good problem-solving abilities and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

- Ability to work independently, and on multiple platform
- Flexibility to work off hours on-demand

- BIM Manager IV - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 6 years
- BIM Manager III - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 8 years
- BIM Manager II - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 10 years
- BIM Manager I - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 12 years
