Position Overview: A skilled and detail-oriented Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) Designer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining accurate P&ID drawings that are essential for the design, construction, and operation of industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and update P&ID drawings based on project specifications and engineering data.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of P&ID designs.
- Interpret and incorporate changes from engineering sketches, redlines, and markups into P&ID designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company procedures.
- Maintain organized records of all P&ID designs and related documentation.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of P&ID design standards and best practices.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Experience in P&ID design, preferably in the heavy industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of P&ID symbols, conventions, and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Plant 3D or SmartPlant P&ID.
- Knowledge of process engineering and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISA).
Qualifications Per Job Level:
Designer IV - Education = Tech/Trade School or equivalent
Designer III - Education = Tech/Trade School or equivalent; Experience = 2 years
Designer II - Education = Tech/Trade School or equivalent; Experience = 4 years
Designer I - Education = Tech/Trade School or equivalent; Experience = 6 years
