Description
Purpose Plan develop coordinate and manage specific construction craft activities for EPC projects
Assist in execution plan development Responsible for development and implementation of craft work
packaging
Additional Compensation Per Diem will be included in pay and determined on a project by project basis
Trips home and a company truck will be provided when applicable This information will be further
explained in the Samuel EPC Employee Exempt Handbook
Pay rates Salary rate will not escalate due to additional hours worked Pay rate will be determined for a
project and will remain at said rate regardless of hours worked. Assignment to Home Office work will have
a different pay rate than rate established for field assignments
Work Schedule Varies by location Must have open availability any time any day of the week
Essential Skills may include but are not limited to the ability to
Work closely with Construction Manager Site Safety Representative and Site Quality
Representative to implement and adhere to project safety and quality programs
Plan coordinate and or supervise construction activities of site foremen craft employees
and field engineers on assigned project
Well versed in respective craft knowledge and specifications in making a successful craft
department
Present knowledge of planning and be able to articulate equipment needs material
needs personnel needs and testing required for successful department
Interface with Construction Manager Project Manager Project Engineer client
representatives and subcontractors to ensure all company client and project policies
and procedures are adhered to
Interface with Construction Manager General Superintendent and Project Engineer as
necessary to review constructability of design with the goal of meeting quality cost and
schedule commitments
Interface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project
schedules and resolving schedule problems as well as insuring successful quality safety
budget and performance
Represent company and project team during bid process project scope development
client meetings and project management meetings
Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy
Participate with Construction Manager General Superintendent in following construction flow
schedule manning of personnel and budgets as well as safety and quality goals
Able to fill out work progress updates on site scheduled timeframe
Able to forecast material or personnel needs and fill out requisitions before items people are
needed on site
Communicate well with other superintendents and site management about needs obstacles
concerns or issues on the job site
Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Exempt Employee Handbook
compliant with the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual, and with the Samuel EPC Safety
Manual and OSHA Safety rules
Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Construction
Manager General Superintendent and Project Engineer as needed
Qualifications
Seven years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as
refineries petrochemical complexes power plants etc
Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and how they
apply to industrial construction projects
Ability to effectively interact with project team members craft employees clients and
subcontractors
Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage craft
employees budgets and construction schedules
Preferred knowledgeable of current construction technology such as Primavera P6
Microsoft Word Excel and PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe
Prefer to be capable of obtaining applicable state construction licenses if required
Must have had previous hands-on job foreman experience
Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally lift items weighing more than 50
pounds with assistance
Climb up and down ladders scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment
Stoop kneel crouch and crawl
See well naturally or with correction
Eye hand coordination
Good physical fitness
Good sense of balance
Work at great heights

Environment Works out of a field office at the construction site monitors respective craft phases of the
construction project may travel when not assigned to a construction site usually entails temporary
residence away from primary residence Expected to deal with delays the effects of bad weather or
emergencies at the site Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous must be careful
while performing onsite services
