Our client, a global renewable energy company, is seeking an experienced Director of Project Finance to join their finance team and take on a crucial role in their Project Finance endeavours.
The Director of Project Finance will be responsible for developing and executing new business and growth opportunities within the United States. The role encompasses all aspects of the business, including leading project and structured finance transactions, collaborating with the team to develop value-creating solutions, and supporting other departments in due diligence and negotiation.
The role will be highly demanding of candidates' knowledge of the Renewable Private Equity market, and will see you working alongside industry leading professionals from a wide, multi-disciplinary background.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinating strategic planning and execution of renewable construction projects, tax equity and debt refinancing to support utility-scale business growth.
- Building solid relationships with debt and equity investors in the utility-scale solar space.
- Sourcing, negotiating, and closing tax equity and loan commitments, conducting due diligence, and overseeing financial modelling.
- Cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with a diverse range of financing entities, encompassing tax equity investors, lenders, project investors, and other key stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
- Engage proactively with current capital providers to ensure strict adherence to existing contractual commitments while optimizing cash flow management and extraction strategies.
- Spearhead comprehensive financial analyses of diverse financing alternatives, guiding the selection and implementation of optimal approaches. This process will emphasize critical factors such as timing, budgetary constraints, and the identification of solutions that enhance Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in solar energy project finance, renewable energy, or investment banking.
- Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in finance, economics, or a closely related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of the solar development lifecycle, associated capital requirements, and a strong command of tax equity structures, including inverted lease, partnership flip, and hybrid transferability models.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex transactions and achieving timely closings under tight deadlines.
- Established network and strong professional relationships with key tax equity investors and debt providers within the solar energy sector.
Salary : $180,000 - $235,000
