Position Summary :

We are seeking a passionate, brilliant, and innovative Social Media Manager to join our team part-time. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies to expand our social media presence, engage our community, and inspire action. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a flexible, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and execute a dynamic social media strategy to support our mission, goals, and campaigns.
Create, curate, and schedule engaging, high-quality content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Manage social media calendars, monitor trends, and stay updated on platform changes and best practices.
Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions, fostering a vibrant online community.
Collaborate with the team to highlight our programs, events, and initiatives in creative and compelling ways.
Analyze social media performance metrics and adjust strategies to maximize growth and engagement.
Stay informed about environmental and scientific issues to craft relevant, impactful messaging.

Qualifications :

Proven experience managing social media accounts, preferably in a nonprofit or environmental / science-related field.

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Passion for environmental conservation, science, and making a difference.

Creative mindset with an eye for visuals and design (experience with Canva or similar tools is a plus).

Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics tools, and scheduling software (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite).

Self-starter with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.

Resides in or near San Diego, CA, with flexibility for occasional in-person meetings or events.
