The Rivendell Interstate School Board invites qualified candidates to apply for the Samuel Morey Elementary school principal position. Rivendell Interstate School District serves approximately 400 students in three schools. We pride ourselves in providing academically flourishing, creative programs, achieving educational equity across a socio-economically diverse population.
Rivendell is located in the beautiful upper Connecticut River Valley - near the cultural, educational, and economic opportunities provided by Dartmouth College, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and the surrounding countryside, and only hours by car from Boston and Montreal. We have access to numerous outdoor opportunities including hiking in the White Mountains, canoeing and water sports on lakes and the Connecticut River, ice skating on the unique skate trail on Lake Morey, and much more.
Founded in 1998, Rivendell is one of four PreK-12 interstate school districts in the country, uniting three towns in Vermont (Fairlee, Vershire, and West Fairlee) with one in New Hampshire (Orford). Governed by a single school board, Rivendell has become known for its innovative, rigorous, and individualized approach to education.
We seek a building based Samuel Morey elementary principal, to team closely and collaborate with the Rivendell Academy and Westshire principals. Our next leader will provide a strong education based on solid foundational math and literacy, equity, authenticity, innovation, curiosity, active student engagement, and academic excellence.
Successful candidates will be highly skilled team builders and excellent communicators with strong records of family and community outreach. Responsibilities include ann implementation of a curriculum ensuring success for all in literacy, math, science, civics, supervision and evaluation of licensed teaching staff and support personnel; and development and maintenance of student support systems to ensure positive student behavior, identify and meet student needs, and assure safety of the school community.
