Maintenance Department
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in steel forming equipment, motors, and control systems.
- Perform electrical preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, relative to inspections, record results, and reports as per procedure.
- Work with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) to troubleshoot automated systems.
- Electrical Installations & Upgrades
- Install wiring, conduit, and electrical panels for new equipment.
- Fabricate and/or install electrical/electronic/electromechanical systems.
- Upgrade or retrofit existing electrical systems for efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure proper grounding and circuit protection.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA, NEC (National electrical Code), and NFPA 70E safety regulations.
- Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when working on energized equipment.
- Identify and mitigate electrical hazards in a heavy industrial environment.
- Power Distribution & Controls System
- Maintain and repair high-voltage and low-voltage power systems.
- Work with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) relays, and motor control centers.
- Ensure electrical components integrate with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Continuous Improvement
- Optimize electrical systems for energy efficiency and reliability.
- Assist with automation projects to enhance production capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to improve processes.
- Other Maintenance and Electrical job tasks as per your supervisor/manager.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of industrial wiring, circuits, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Understanding of three-phase power systems
- Skilled in motor control, transformers, and switchgear
- Commitment to safety protocols and preventive maintenance
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE: PLC’s, electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment, mills and presses preferred.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Associate degree or completion of a Journeyman apprenticeship program
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment
- Electrical Schematic reading
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Allen Bradley PLC editing experience
- Knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Steel forming manufacturing
