Key Accountabilities
- Identify and manage new, current and target accounts.
- Maintain strong relationships with current accounts while building strong relationships with prospective accounts.
- Work effectively with our Highway Products and Heavy Construction teams to ensure proper service and on-time delivery according to customers material specifications.
- Attend Industry trade shows and events properly representing the company
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work independently as well as work within a team.
- The ability to learn D365 inventory look up, costing and pricing
- Must be confident, self-motivating, and a quick learner.
- Must have great organizational skills to provide timely responses to customer requests.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Prospect and bid upcoming projects to general contractors and all bidders, as required
- Contact Customers and low bidders to follow up on previously offered pricing
- Work with the engineering department to help identify material requirements, bill of materials, layouts and generate quotes.
- Receive phones call from customers requesting quotes.
- Manage on-going projects to ensure all the materials are on schedule to deliver. (act as the project manager)
- Request prices for Value-Added work from vendors
- Review available inventory for requirements
- Work with vendors re: on-going value-added work.
- Work with credit in establishing new customers, help problem solve payment issues, initiate credit notes as required.
Qualifications
- 10 years of sales experience, preferably as a materials supplier to the Heavy Civil Infrastructure and/or to the steel industry
- Proven success of expanding territories and customer base
- Extensive knowledge of steel products with a focus on value added selling, general business acumen, and demonstrated customer service aptitude.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of your time.
