Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our Hermitage, PA team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in operating flatbed trucks and responsible for the timely and secure delivery of metal products to customers, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all DOT regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class A vehicle with flatbed trailer to transport metal materials to and from customer sites and other company locations.
- Safely secure loads using chains, straps, and tarps when required.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and cargo.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company safety and transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery paperwork, and time records using ELD systems.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers upon delivery.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of flatbed experience preferred, including load securement and tarping.
- Experience hauling steel, aluminum, or other industrial products is an asset.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service (HOS) requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and safety-minded.
