Responsibilities
Review, establish, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications to ensure code compliance, customer specifications are met, and for optimization of designs linked to required code, contract requirements, and manufacturability.Organize, facilitate and play the lead role in ASME and other code compliance type audits. Work collaboratively with the Quality to team to ensure quality systems are compliant with the ASME code, corporate quality management systems and goals; such as ISO9001-2015.Prevent compliance issues by collaborating with sales, engineering and design teams SPVG wide. This may require review of customer specifications for RFQ support, and preparation of proposal documents, when required, by sales or contract review staff to ensure fulfillment internal and external customer requirements.Provide consultations with SPVG Engineering Departments on advanced engineering calculations, code specification clarity, and auditing of engineering outputs with a focus on high profile designs.Utilize expertise in the area of global standards and compliance to analyze and provide input to project teams in the form of specific actions, tasks and plans related to compliance with applicable standards such as; CRN (Canada), PED (Europe) and others.Manage approval process for CRN (Canada), PED (Europe) and other required code.Aid in researching new markets by determining ability to meet requirements, identify and obtain required approvals and certifications.Proactively manage compliance to revisions in standards throughout the product lifecycle by establishing mechanisms to monitor changes in standards and engineering changes; review and disposition engineering changes products that may affect the products compliance to applicable standards.Support on-site assessments, aide in answering questions regarding products and capabilities by 3rd party, regulatory agencies and / or customers as required.Work collaboratively with manufacturing to improve processes. Contribute to the development of operational processes, procedures, best practices, and methods.Interact with internal and external users / customers to provide technical support.Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, and Customer Care to facilitate field service work and ensure that site work is code compliant and completed to customer expectations.Lead pre-manufacturing meetings for new product or highly complex orders, support the operation teams, and ensure the product is built to code.Contribute to ensure that the technical capabilities of operations are appropriately scoped, implemented, maintained and compliant.Upholds and participates in the company's quality and EHS programs, and performs other duties as assigned.Engage in continuous improvement for processes included in and adjacent to job role. Recognize and resolve customer satisfaction issues (both internal and external).This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management, as required.As a SPVG employee, you are required to understand the ISO system as it applies to each division and the elements that affect your job
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Discipline and 4 years' relevant experience or associate's degree and 7 years relevant experience.Qualifications
Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.Must have a basic understanding of computers.Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.Must be able to read blue prints.Good communication skills.Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and Professional Engineer designation preferred.Member of American Welding Society.Pressure vessel and / or steel manufacturing experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication, project management, and analytical skills.Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
