What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Medical and Lab Director/Pathologist position at Samuel Staffing?
This will be a primary Center Medical and Lab Director position which will require a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week. We will need to fill it with a Pathologist.
Position Overview :
The Primary and Backup Medical Director provides medical oversight to Medical Staff Associates, ensuring compliance with FDA and CLIA regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the primary physician for FDA reporting and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Delegate "laboratory director" or similar roles as required by CLIA and ensure necessary training.
- Adhere to company policies and maintain high medical standards.
- Oversee and train Medical Staff Associates, evaluating their performance.
- Conduct weekly reviews of Medical Staff Associates' notebooks and medical evaluations.
- Hold monthly meetings with Medical Staff Associates and collaborate with the Center Manager.
- Respond to donor suitability inquiries and conduct necessary interviews.
- Maintain confidentiality and oversee medical supplies.
- Review medical incident reports and abnormal test results before donor clearance.
- Monitor donor health in immunization programs and perform evaluations for red cell recipients if applicable.
- Determine donor suitability after adverse reactions and stay informed on infectious diseases.
- Perform Center Physician functions, including notifying donors of unsuitable results.
- Complete additional services as requested.
