Instruction features a 1:1 Chromebook program and is centered on Project-Based Learning, a collaborative, respectful culture, and an emphasis on 21st century skills. Samueli Academy teachers must have the ability to raise student achievement for a wide range of learners. This teacher will collaborate with other teachers, community partners, and caregivers; integrating curricula whenever possible to create meaningful learning experiences. Must hold a valid California teaching credential, preferred CTE Credential (or certification if teaching a specialized subject) authorizing teaching in assigned classroom/subject matter. Experience in instrumental music, playing and instructing multiple genres (ranging from classical to rock), integrative music theory, and general music history is strongly preferred. Experience or familiarity with mariachi is preferred. Working knowledge of flat.io or other notation tools (Musescore, Finale, Sibelius), SoundTrap or other DAW tools, recording, and sound design preferred.
