Job Description Summary:
The collections and credit specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Company receives all necessary payments from our customers. You will monitor accounts receivable statements to identify debts owed to the Company, contacting customers to notify them of overdue payments and documenting debts collected. Candidate must be a superior communicator who excels at both collections and customer service. This hands-on position is also responsible for managing the credit application process. You must be able to handle a high call volume, have experience in reconciling a customer’s account, and enjoy interacting with other departments in the company, particularly Sales and Accounting.
Summary of essential job functions:
1. Monitor accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts.
2. Contact customers with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments.
3. Resolve customer billing concerns and secure accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.
4. Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from customer.
5. Submitting necessary documents such as statements, invoices and credit memos, upon request.
6. Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
