What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Coordinator position at Samuels & Son Seafood C?
Samuels Seafood is looking for candidates with receiving experience to join our team! Ideal candidates will have a strong attention to detail, be highly motivated and organized. This position functions on an early morning shift beginning at 4:00am.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work early morning shift
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Receiving Office Functions:
- Complete and/or review daily receiving logs, including shellfish
- Process and track activity related to product kept in third party storage facilities, including product transfers, releases, invoice approvals and resolve any issues.
- Provide the dock receiving team with packing lists, paperwork and necessary information promptly to avoid any delays in receiving the product.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Manager, especially during month-end, to ensure that inventory is accurately recorded by the designated cut-off times.
- Provide guidance to other Samuels’ locations on tracking products onsite and/or products stored at third party storage facilities.
- Review and refine the existing receiving paperwork process to reduce inefficiencies and improve accuracy.
- Work with Accounts Payable and the receiving dock to ensure all paperwork is recorded properly.
Purchasing Functions:
- Purchase Order issuance for purchasing department as needed
- Purchase Order adjustments and cancellations as directed
- Track packaging and other miscellaneous inventory items and place orders when needed
- Complete special projects as needed
Education and Experience:
- 1 year of experience in receiving is required.
- Experience working with perishable inventory preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
