Description: San Antonio Academy of Texas seeks a compassionate and energetic part-time After-School Care Counselor from
2:30-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. The After-School Care Counselor will monitor and interact with boys in Pre-K through 2nd grade in
a variety of settings and activities such as playing recess sports and games, engaging in art projects, or helping students with
homework. Applicants must be reliable, responsible, and respectful. Must work well with other After-School Care Counselors to
create a safe and engaging environment for the students. The boys often view the After-School Care Counselors as mentors and
role models, so the candidate must value and reflect the school’s themes of leadership and character development, positive self-
image, and respect for one another. All school staff and personnel are expected to uphold the San Antonio Academy of Texas’s
motto: Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
- Supervise, facilitate, and participate in After-School Care activities for grades Pre-K through 2nd grade
- Ensure safety and security for all students
- Facilitate release of students to school-sanctioned after-school activities or sign out students to their proper guardian
- Keep a daily record of students under supervision
- Assist with homework, art projects, and other activities
- Perform cleaning and organization of After-School Care facilities and property
- Build rapport with students’ parents
- Foster positive and meaningful relationships with students in your care
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Experience in childcare, education, or related field
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and moral and ethical judgment
