Position Description: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Graphic Designer will deliver effective, aesthetic, on-brand, and on-strategy creative for print and digital platforms, this includes a wide variety of promotional collateral, email blasts, social media, advertising, product design, and website. The Graphic Designer will work in conjunction with the Digital Content Specialist and Marketing Manager on the content and art direction of the designs. This position will also support photography needs for special events, programs, classes, and exhibitions.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
A good understanding of visual design principles
Experience creating designs for a variety of target audiences
Intermediate to advanced level of Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator experience required.
Familiarity with publishing software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite), social media and video editing tools, email marketing system (Constant Contact), and social media scheduling platform (Sprout Social)
Must possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a high degree of professionalism
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Solid customer service skills with the proven ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines and accomplish a variety of long- and short-term goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in graphic design, fine arts, marketing, or related field, preferred (Students currently enrolled in such programs encouraged to apply)
A minimum of 1-2 years of professional design experience, preferred
Photography experience is a plus
Must have flexible working hours including evening and weekend duty, required
TASKS/FUNCTIONS
Study design briefs and determine requirements
Design and creates marketing and promotional materials including but not limited to brochures, flyers, posters, invitations, newsletters, signage, and ads
Execute top-quality design from concept to delivery complying with brand standards.
Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings
Iterate new designs based on feedback
Create website and social media assets from hero designs to short videos
Create email blasts designs and templates
Assist with photography and sourcing images (stock photos and video footage)
Assist with daily administrative tasks to ensure marketing department runs smoothly
Assists and performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those occurring in the performance of the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally may lift and move up to 40 pounds.
Although the position is primarily located indoors, the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is expected. Expected to perform with minimum supervision and act independently within the scope of normal duties and responsibilities. On regular occasions, required to work extended hours as well as weekends and evenings in an outdoor setting. Minimal travel may be required.
