San Antonio Christian School is seeking a dynamic, experienced and collaborative leader to serve as a teacher aide. Located on a beautiful 71-acre campus, SACS is a non-denominational covenant Christian school with small class sizes and quality academics, coupled with a wide range of art and athletic opportunities which provide students with a Christ-centered education while fostering a life of faith and service.
The person will assist the lead teacher with classroom activities, prepares educational materials, and helps manage student behavior. Additionally, this position handle clerical tasks, supervise students during various activities, and ensure a safe and clean classroom environment. All of this will be done with the goal of creating an environment of student flourishing. This position is instrumental in sustaining a school environment that is safe, encouraging, and fosters the development of the student.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities, including preparing educational materials and setting up the classroom.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and help with assignments.
- Handle clerical duties such as photocopying, filling, laminating, and other duties assigned by the lead teacher.
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Prioritize multiple tasks and be flexible.
- Be familiar with the employee handbook and class curriculum/expectations.
- Monitor students during lunch, recess, and other activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist in management of classroom behavior and report any incidents.
- Assist in minor health needs, bathroom accidents, and ensure a clean and safe classroom environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred college course work in related field.
- Prefer experience as a teacher, teacher aide and/or assistant teacher.
- Able to handle multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity regarding sensitive employee information with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
- Strong technology skills with knowledge of standard software in Microsoft Office and variety of programs.
- Acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior and be an active member of a local evangelical church that aligns with the schools essential beliefs, Nicene Creed, and statement of faith.
- Must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation.
