Job Summary and Description
Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Full-time faculty members are classified according to the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Faculty members are responsible to a department / program chairperson. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges' and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience :
- Master'sor higher degree in Political Science or related field. Related fieldsinclude Government, Public Administration, Public Management, Public Policy,Public Affairs, Political Economy, Comparative Politics, InternationalRelations, Politics; or Master'sin any discipline with 18 graduate hours in Political Science or related fieldsas listed above.
- Mustsubmit a cover letter and unofficial transcripts demonstrating minimumeducation qualifications (Official transcripts will be requested if selectedfor an interview).
- Willingnessto teach in all modalities : in person, hybrid, online zoom synchronous, onlineasynchronous, or Hy-flex.
- Willingnessto be certified by SAC Teaching and Learning to teach in all modalities bycompleting the SAC OTC program.
- Willingnessto teach at all times of day, morning, afternoon, at night, or on weekends, asrequired.
- Willingnessto teach in all parts of terms : 16 weeks; 14 weeks; 8 weeks; 5 weeks, or 3weeks, as required.
- Willingnessto meet with students outside of class by appointment to discuss courses.
- Mustreside in Texas.
