General Description: The Network Administrator at the San Antonio Food Bank is a pivotal role that ensures the organization's technology infrastructure is running smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support its life-changing mission. As the Network Administrator, you will manage and optimize our network environment, with a strong emphasis on Cisco Meraki technologies. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on opportunity to directly impact our operations while utilizing cutting-edge IT solutions to help us fight hunger.

Responsibilities:

• Support operating systems and network (Cisco Meraki and Microsoft 365), occasionally at odd hours and under pressure.
• Troubleshoot escalated network, server, software and hardware issues.
• Monitor network performance, ensure optimal system functionality and maintain infrastructure according to requirements.
• Perform regular updates, installations and upgrades of networking components and software, including applying security patches, managing virtual environments and integrating automation processes.
• Provide assistance with network-related issues for users and offers training as needed.
• Assist the Information Technology team in the planning and execution of strategic IT and network projects, such as firewall replacement, network upgrades, and the migration of identity management and productivity software to dedicated Microsoft 365 tenants.
• Implement Cisco Meraki network access controls and monitors traffic for security threats.
• Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery protocols, ensuring secure operations across cloud and network platforms.
• Analyze recurring network issues and develops solutions to automate or remediate these tasks.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, application of security policies and firewalls across Cisco Meraki.
• Support projects required during new technology implementations and for scheduled upgrades. May manage small projects.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all processed, stored or accessed information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Equivalent work experience in network administration, particularly with Cisco Meraki and networking, will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Network administration, with a strong focus on Cisco Meraki network management and configuration.
• Experience with network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, access points, and VPNs, particularly in Cisco Meraki environments.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Cisco Meraki Network Associate, Network , or Security are highly desirable. Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus but not required.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, IP addressing, routing, and security best practices.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical networking concepts to non-technical users, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Must have valid drivers license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record to meet insurance eligibility requirements.
• A strong commitment to the mission and values of the San Antonio Food Bank.

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft 365 / Azure administration.
• Extensive experience with Cisco Meraki wireless and security technologies

Work Environment

This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
