General Description:
The NBFB Program Coordinator manages and administers the Utility Assistance Program to assist individuals and families in the New Braunfels area (Comal County). In addition to program support, they provide Manages a caseload of participants to provide case management with a focus on helping transition them from public assistance to self-sufficiency through employment related services. Coordinate and design opportunities for training and education, obtain and retain employment, and ensure financial security and stability. Manage and administer Utility Assistance Program Budget and identify client eligibility.
Essential Functions:
- Support, demonstrate and incorporate San Antonio Food Bank Mission Statement, Vision, and diversity goals into each job responsibility.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Utility Assistance Program ensuring guidelines for eligibility and prioritization are met.
- Assist with ongoing program support including compliance and accurate record keeping of activity and outcome.
- Assess community needs to ensure program remains relevant and impactful.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in the program.
- Serve as a point of contact for team members providing guidance and support to ensure program success.
- Track outcomes and ensure established goals and objectives are met.
- Build relationships with community members, partner organizations, stakeholders, and others to expand program reach.
- Represent the New Braunfels Food Bank as needed at off-site events and meetings.
- Prepare reports to highlight program progress. Analyze trends in demand to suggest adjustments to the program focus or resource allocation.
- Provide support for case management services to include intervention and frequent check ins with potential perspective workforce clients and referring partners.
- Develop individual service plans and make referrals to neighbors in need of community resources including but not limited to Federal Benefits Assistance, utility assistance and rental assistance to overcome barriers to employment.

- Maintain confidentiality of documentation and information received.
- Work with the Program Manager to review programs and resources to continuously meet the needs of the community.
- Provide excellent customer service to neighbors and exemplify the values of the New Braunfels Food Bank.
- Manage key relationship with NBFB Apple Corps Volunteers and Community partners providing services to ensure that client’s job readiness.
- Assist in pantry when the need arises, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree Social Work, Human Resource, Business, Health, Nutrition or relevant field or equivalent work experience. (Preferred)
- Knowledge and understanding of program management a plus.
- Knowledge of group process and interpersonal relations.
- Available to work from Tuesdays to Saturdays, some nights, holidays, and weekends as defined by work schedule
- Excellence in communication, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan and organize effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to build and maintain a harmonious working relationship with partners and participants.
- Knowledge of community resources; case management principals, objectives, standards, and methods a plus.
- Knowledge of hunger & poverty issues.
- Skill in screening and assessing needs.
- Bilingual- English & Spanish (Preferred).
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license, clean driving record and current vehicle insurance.

This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
