Reports to: Chief Philanthropy Officer, San Antonio Food Bank
General Description: The primary objective of this position is to secure resources (food, time, money, and voice) for the San Angelo Food Bank from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations. The position will also be involved as a lead for special events, presentations, food and fund drives, cause related marketing, third party events, and other special promotions for the San Angelo Food Bank.
The second objective for this position is to offer support and leadership for programmatic outreach in areas of Food for Today, Food for Tomorrow, and Food for a Lifetime. The position directly supervises one staff member in this area, the Case Assistance Navigator.
About the San Angelo Food Bank: the San Angelo Food Bank is a branch of the San Antonio Food Bank and was created to support give help and get help strategies for the San Antonio Food Banks oversight of the region in and around San Angelo, including the counties: Coke, Concho, Iron, Sterling, Tom Green. The branch was launched in 2024 and aims to bring food security to thousands in the region.
Essential Functions:
- Develop relationships and make solicitations for philanthropic gifts, cause-related marketing, food and fund drives, third party events, in-kind donations, sponsorships, volunteer hours, and other engagement strategies.
- Serves as the comprehensive manager for the major donor constituents in the region, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitations, and stewardship.
- Develop and maintain a Plan of Action for all areas of responsibility, including both short and long-range goals and objectives, and then work the plan.
- Maintain complete engagement within the San Antonio Food Banks Salesforce database, always keeping records up to date, and utilizing tasks to develop manager portfolio.
- Responsible for an ongoing thank you program to acknowledge and recognize donors through thank you letters and other appropriate means.
- Support all events that raise both money and food: special events, food and fund drives, third party events, cause-related marketing campaigns, and special promotions.
- Personal face-to-face presentations for employee groups, service organizations, religious groups, and others.
- Represent the Food Bank at events and meetings in the community.
- In collaboration with the Marketing/Communication Department, ensure San Angelo Food Bank website and social media sits are accurate, regularly updated, and represent concise and clear messaging for giving and getting help.
- Recruit, support, and engage a local Advisory Board for the San Angelo Food Bank
- Support and supervise the programmatic, developmental and operational staff.
- In partnership with the Director of Food for Today, support local staff in building and maintaining the local network of partner agencies in alignment with the Programs department of the San Antonio Food Bank.
- In partnership with the Director of Food for Today, help facilitate the local staff member with the audit, review and updating of required agency files, licenses, inspections and permits in alignment with all USDA, TDA and San Antonio Food Bank policies.
- With the Director of Food Distribution Programs, support and facilitate equitable food distribution across San Angelo Food Bank region, in alignment with San Antonio Food Bank strategic distribution plan.
- Develop program partnerships in alignment with San Antonio Food Bank strategic programming plan.
- Provide written status reports each week to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Chief Programs Officer.
- Comply with, abide by all personnel policies, and accept additional duties as assigned by the Chief Sustainability Officer.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in relevant fields such as social work, public health, nonprofit management or a related discipline plus three to five years development experience or relevant work experience.
- Work experience in fund development and marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skills in computer applications i.e., word processing and spreadsheet/database management.
- Good judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to organize work, time, and self.
- Orientation to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.
- Ability to supervise others and delegate appropriate tasks.
- Night and weekend work are required and routine.
- Personal vehicle is required.
- Must have valid drivers license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record to meet insurance eligibility requirements.
