Job Scope
Supervises daily activities of a team within a function or campus. Responsible for direct coaching and discipline of
employees. Uses significant independent judgment and familiarity with the field to perform work. Responsible for
administration of various complex function or campus programs and serves as the lead of a group of employees.
Develops policies and procedures and oversees the implementation and execution of them. Typically required to
complete tasks of subordinate-level roles, when needed.
Position Summary
To provide leadership and supervision to the Medicaid Programs staff and assist in the management of the
district’s Medicaid Reimbursement Programs to ensure that district staff participating in the programs are
adequately supported.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Implement both Medicaid programs (SHARS and MAC) to include the development of department goals,
procedures, and budget
2. Develop staffing patterns, interview applicants, and make recommendations regarding staff appointments and
schedules
3. Responsible for orienting all new staff to department policies, procedures, and web applications
4. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff
5. Develop Medicaid Programs procedures in cooperation with school administrators
6. Keep informed of any changes to districts, State, and Federal regulations related to Medicaid Programs in schools
to ensure compliance.
7. Serve as liaison and resource for departments, administrators, principals, state agencies, and vendors
8. Design, facilitate and conduct staff development for district staffs participating in Medicaid billing
9. Provide guidance and ongoing support to campuses implementing the Medicaid Programs
10. Monitor, review and evaluate the district’s Medicaid billing program; initiate changes as needed to ensure
accountability
11. Coordinate efforts to develop strategies to ensure billing compliance by district staff
12. Oversee the preparation for all state and federal program reviews and audits
13. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience
- 3 years of professional experience in Nursing, Special Education or Medicaid Billing activities or a related
function, and
o Progressive leadership experience to include:
o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams.
o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- 10 years’ professional experience in related field to include:
- 2 years of progressive leadership experience to include:
o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams.
o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams.
- Experience in planning and conducting staff training sessions.
- Experience with conflict resolution strategies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
