This is a 1-year internship role for a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), designed to provide experience within the medical and performance department of a professional sports organization, the San Antonio Spurs. The position supports day-to-day player care, medical operations, EMR/data quality assurance, and performance initiatives when needed. Attention to detail, adaptability, initiative, and collaboration are essential, as this role operates within a multidisciplinary high-performance team.

The position supports day-to-day player care, medical operations, EMR/data quality assurance, and performance initiatives when needed. Attention to detail, adaptability, initiative, and collaboration are essential, as this role operates within a multidisciplinary high-performance team.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist athletic trainers and physical therapists with treatment, rehabilitation, and daily player care routines.
- Support S&C and sports science staff with data collection, load monitoring procedures, player testing, and EMR entry, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR), monitor injury trends, and support medical compliance reporting and documentation.
- Serve as a liaison during home and selected away games, assisting with activation sessions, equipment setup, and locker room logistics.
- Provide support in performance-related duties when needed (e.g., assisting with warm-ups, managing testing sessions, etc.).
- Transport players to medical appointments and manage logistics (scheduling, paperwork, record-keeping).
- Aid the coordination of player intel gathering and documentation during NBA Combine, Summer League, free agency, and pre-draft processes.
- Assist with medical supply tracking, inventory, and procurement in collaboration with the medical and operations staff.
- Current Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an AT in collegiate or elite/professional sport settings.
- Eligible for licensure and registration as an AT in the state of Texas.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and potential travel.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in dynamic sport environments.
