- Leading, training, and mentoring the Guest Experience Driver team to ensure consistent safety and service standards.
- Assisting in scheduling and coordinating staff assignments to ensure optimal coverage.
- Monitoring and enforcing adherence to all transportation safety protocols and operational policies.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for driver-related concerns and guest transportation needs.
- Overseeing daily vehicle safety inspections and ensuring all driver logs, safety checklists, and pre-operation inspections are completed accurately.
- Operating and assisting with maintenance of guest transport vehicles, including staff shuttles, trains, carts, and jeeps/trucks.
- Ensuring all vehicles and work areas are properly maintained, cleaned, and ready for daily operations.
- Supporting leadership by assisting in performance evaluations, training initiatives, and disciplinary procedures when necessary.
- Managing guest interactions, ensuring high levels of customer service, and handling guest complaints or incidents in a professional manner.
- Assisting with coordinating special transportation requests for VIP guests, events, and mobility-impaired visitors.
- Assisting with reporting and documenting mechanical or operational issues and working with maintenance teams for repairs.
- Upholding all company policies and safety standards while consistently demonstrating a hospitality-focused attitude inside and outside the zoo.

- Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education diploma required.
- Valid TX Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a guest transportation role, with at least six (6) months in a leadership or supervisory capacity preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle guest interactions and conflict resolution professionally.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks related to vehicle maintenance and guest assistance.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Position requires a flexible schedule that includes availability on weekdays, weekends, nights, some holidays, and occasional after-hour or off-site assignments.
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment National Sex Offender Search, Criminal Background Check, and Drug Screen.
