SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:This is a full-time tenure track position teaching Ethnic Studies. Crafton is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HIS) and is actively seeking to increase the number of faculty of color so that we may create a workforce that more closely mirrors our students and our service area. For example, Crafton has a much lower percentage of Full-Time faculty of color (28%) than students (58%) of color. Our goal is to create a workforce that is inclusive of race, sexual orientation, gender, values, different backgrounds, political, and religious beliefs. Accordingly, the successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to integrating equity and inclusion in all aspects of their work. This assignment includes the development and teaching of Ethnic Studies courses and actively participating in department and college responsibilities including curriculum development, assessment of outcomes, regular professional development, and collegial processes. The successful candidate will utilize recognized methodologies that support student success and be part of an engaged campus community.

• Incorporate equitable teaching practices within all courses taught within the disciplines.
• Teaching assigned courses in a manner consistent with academic professionalism, departmental standards, and course outlines of record.
• Work collaboratively with faculty and others on curriculum design, program review and other departmental/program and college processes.
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes and plan for improvement.
• Maintain and submit accurate records in a timely manner.
• Actively participate in shared governance and individual faculty responsibility outside the classroom.
• Maintain regular office hours.
• Participate in required training to teach courses in a variety of modalities
• Participate in regular professional development activities.
• Engage in campus activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, or American Indian Studies OR
• Master's in Ethnic Studies
• OR the equivalent
• Experience that indicates a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical and learning disabilities.

4. Teaching Philosophy of your beliefs about teaching and learning. The statement or description should include examples of how you put your beliefs into practice by including concrete examples of what you do or anticipate doing in the classroom.
5. Unofficial transcripts that show you meet the minimum educational requirement(s) for the position. Only transcripts showing the awarded minimum required degree or higher degree will be accepted. Transcripts must be legible. Transcripts must be from a US accredited institution. Transcripts from outside the US must include an official evaluation for equivalency. Copies of diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts if the position requires a degree. Official Transcripts will be required upon hire. If possible, please highlight the area indicating the degree name/major and date the degree was awarded or conferred.
