What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal Work Study - Psychology, Honor Society position at San Bernardino Community College District?
San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Federal Work Study, hourly positions for our two college campuses (San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College) on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year.
Student worker will assist in providing Psychology clubs and Psychology Honor Society program related general support and assistance to Psychology faculty advisor, staff, and students during and outside of meetings and activities. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population.

 Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.
Â
 Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

 Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.

 Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

The person selected for hire will be required to complete the following pre-employment requirements:
Student worker will assist in providing Psychology clubs and Psychology Honor Society program related general support and assistance to Psychology faculty advisor, staff, and students during and outside of meetings and activities. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population.

- Assist with admission processes for clubs and application for admission to Psychology Honor Society
- Assist with online WPA application, conference registrations, conference submissions and presentation materials.
- Assist with distribution of materials to campus departments.
- Assist with campus and community publications.
- Assist with campus events.
- Assist in maintaining club and Psi Beta records.
- Ability to follow directions in order to carry out the duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with various equipment/tools used in the program and/or have completed some courses in the specific program or related fields.Minimum Requirements:
- Student must have in possession of a Federal Work Study award letter for the 2024/2025 academic year.
- Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.
- Student cannot fall below half-time (6 units) during their employment under the FWS program.
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Student must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA.
- Student must have a current TB.
- Ability to communicate well with students, faculty, and staff.
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to follow directions carefully.
- Must have the desire to learn and practice office skills and procedures with minimum supervision.
