What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal Work Study - SAS - High Tech Center position at San Bernardino Community College District?
San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Federal Work Study, hourly positions for our two college campuses (San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College) on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Student Accessibility Services (SAS,) is seeking motivated high achieving students to assist with general support in the High Tech Center. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to work well as part of a team and individually.
Student worker will assist with the duties below. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements and duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the High-Tech Center.

 Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.

 Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

 Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.

- Assist in providing general support in the High Tech Center by assisting with monitoring the computer lab area to ensure compliance with District policy.
- Assist students with log in inquiries, assisting with MS Office programs, educational software, printing slide shows and document attachments, proof reading, proper formatting, and saving documents.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including those from a diverse academic, and economic, cultural, disability, gender entity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
- Student must have in possession of a Federal Work Study award letter for the 2024/2025 academic years
- Student cannot fall below half-time (6 units) during their employment under the FWS program.
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Student must possess basic knowledge and skill with computer programs for example utilizing a network email system, Canvas and Microsoft Office. Additional instructional systems if applicableÂ
- Minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average.
- Must complete TB test at time of employment
