San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Student Worker, hourly positions for our two college campuses (San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College) on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year.Â

The University Transfer & Career Center (UTCC) is looking for motivated students that have an interest in helping students make the transition to university and/or Career.

Â

Summary Description

Â

  • Greet students at front desk of UTCC and making student appointments
  • Redirecting phone calls
  • Assist with the creation and posting of flyers for events and workshops
  • Help the office with filing
  • Inform students of UTCC events and activities (through multiple mediums i.e. Flyers, Posters, Video, and social media, classroom announcements)
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of all UTCC events
  • Other job duties as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.
  • Must have completed at least 12 units at CHC, have a major declared, and a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Must complete a tb test at time of employment
  • Participate in UTCC training (dates and times TBA)

Desired Qualifications

  • Participation in one past UTCC, workshop, event and/or activity or COUN 110 Â or COUN 130 course
  • Participate in UTCC training
  • Attend scheduled Staff meetings as necessary
  • When requested wear a UTCC uniform
  • Have an interest in helping other students to learn more about transfer and career services

 Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.

 Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

 Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.

 Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction

The person selected for hire will be required to complete the following pre-employment requirements:

  • Submit to and successfully pass DOJ live scan/fingerprinting. Cost of live-scan services to be borne by candidate.
  • Sealed official transcript(s) in envelope from institution or electronic copies emailed directly from institution (for positions with higher education requirement)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment
  • Other pre-employment requirements may be required depending on the position (i.e. certifications or licenses; see job posting qualifications section for details).Â

 Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements is mandatory to be eligible for employment. These requirements are in accordance with the San Bernardino Community College District's  Administrative Procedures and Board Policies.
