Promotion: Appraiser Trainees are eligible for promotion to Appraiser I ($61,609.60 - $84,656.00 annually) upon meeting the minimum requirements for that class including obtaining, within one (1) year of employment, a valid permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization and receiving a satisfactory work performance evaluation. Incumbents must promote within eighteen (18) months or be terminated. Likewise, Appraiser I are eligible for promotion to Appraiser II (Up to $98,716 annually) within 24 months or employment will be terminated. Regular status can only be achieved at the Appraiser II level.
Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and computer skills, have the ability to manage large appraisal workloads with a high degree of independence, and be willing to travel to district offices as needed.
