What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Physician Mobile Clinic position at San Bernardino County?
The Department of Public Health (DPH), Clinic Operations - Mobile Medical Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a challenging career as a Per Diem Physician. The Per Diem Physician provides a variety of health care services involving the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within underserved neighborhoods and more remote areas of San Bernardino County. Patient consultations will primarily be conducted on a new state-of-the-art mobile medical clinic. The Per-Diem Physician may also support operations at other Public Health clinics or health centers located across San Bernardino County. This is a contract position which does not attain status as a regular County employee. This position serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority. Upon candidate selection, the work schedule will be negotiated and will include a minimum of 16 hours per week. Salary is based upon qualifications and does not include benefits.
Duties for this position include the following:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including health history, physical examination and patient education on a mobile clinic unit.
- Play an active role in a health care team to promote preventive health measures, manage acute and chronic conditions of clinic patients.
- Provide medical services to hard-to-reach populations and rural communities throughout the county.
- Connect patients to ongoing care and resources including Department of Public Health’s Federally Qualified Health Centers.
- Provide medical services and support at special events such as community health fairs and health expos.
Applicants must meet all of the following:
Education: Doctorate of Medicine or Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine completed at an accredited institution.
License: Must be a licensed physician with the State of California.
Residency: Completion of residency in family practice, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
